I am a Ph.D Candidate in English Literature from an R-1 school in the U.S. I am in my last year of writing the dissertation. I envision this blog as a chronicle of my next year or so as I finish the degree and go on the job market (or not). I expect this will chronicle my fluctuations between hope and despair, and help focus my ideas and goals. I have a supportive group of friends, but I think I also need a place to write about the process and its anxieties, frustrations and perplexities.
